Placer County is home to a plethora of good wineries and 11 of them have been recognized at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
In total, 72 medals were dished out to wineries across our region. The winning wineries include:

- Wise Villa Winery
- Vernon
- Fawnridge
- Le Casque
- Popie Wines
- Lone Buffalo
- Mount Saint Joseph Wines
- Black Vette Winery
- Bonitata Boutique Wine
Wise Villa Winery brought home the coveted Best of Class medal and a Double Gold, while Fawnridge, Le Casque, Mt. Vernon and Secret Ravine also earned Double Gold, among other medals.
For those who appreciate a good glass of white or red wine at a scenic winery, Placer County doesn’t disappoint. It is one of many reasons why people choose to call Placer County home.
