It truly is one of the best times of the year – especially with all the incredible events in Placer County.

With Thanksgiving and the rest of the holidays just around the corner, here are five family-fun events you won’t want to miss.

Auburn Veterans Day Parade

Salute our Veterans at the California Veterans Day Parade in Auburn.

Since 1919, the community has honored our brave service men and women through a patriotic ceremony, the release of doves and a flyover.

A complementary luncheon will be available for everyone in attendance.

Mountain Mandarin Festival

Celebrate the sweet locally grown mandarin at the annual Mountain Mandarin Festival on Nov. 17-19.

For more than 25 years, the festival has delighted visitors with mandarin-centric vendors, foods, activities and more, including live music and entertainment.

The festival takes place under the canopy of fall colors and trees on the Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn.

As you enter the fair, you’ll immediately notice the tangy and sweet scents of mandarins in the air – which will draw you to all the mandarin-inspired concoctions and free samples.

Turkey Trot

Thanksgiving with family and friends is a little extra special thanks to the Turkey Trot in Roseville.

Burn some extra calories on your run, jog, walk or stroll. Then enjoy the Thursday morning parade before heading to your family’s Thanksgiving dinner.

The Turkey Trot is a great cause. Proceeds go toward recreation programs for at-risk youth. Canned goods are also accepted for Help Feed the Hungry.

Sunset Run

Learn about Rocklin’s newest recreation area during the Sunset Run.

This unique early evening run or walk fundraiser is held at the Sunset Whitney Recreation Area.

Lawn games, vendors, food trucks and a movie under the stars are all on the itinerary for this family day. Dogs are welcome.

58thAnnual Sylvia Besana Holiday Parade

Watch in awe as a parade of dance teams, horses and floats take to the streets for this annual family tradition.

It’s Roseville’s longest-running tradition and features craft booths, food, Santa and so much more.
