Auburn residents may have lost Chevys Fresh Mex, but they are gaining another great place to eat: El Tapatio Authentic Mexican Restaurants.
Formerly located on 2100 Grass Valley Highway, Chevys shut its doors last year and now plans have been filed with Placer County for the new authentic Mexican eatery, according to the Sacramento Business Journal. The 2,900-square-foot space is set to be remodeled.
El Tapatio has another location in nearby Citrus Heights and several in Oregon. The chain debuted in Oregon in 1980.
The menu features classic Mexican dishes cooked using traditional family recipes. Catering options are also available.
