If you’re a resident in Placer County and have fallen a little behind on your rent or utility bill, there’s help on the way.

Placer County is currently reviewing applications for emergency rental assistance. Anyone who thinks they’re eligible can apply by visiting RentHelpPlacer.com.

If you meet the income eligibility and are unable to fully make rent and utilities due to the pandemic, you can begin resolving your financial hardship with the county today.

Some households may also be eligible for retro assistance for unpaid rent and bills dating back to last year. Households seeking assistance are asked to reapply if they continue to face hardships as a result of the pandemic. Once approved, the funds will be disbursed to landlords and utility companies.

County leaders recognized that some residents may have fallen behind at no fault of their own. This program addresses those situations and helps residents regain their financial footing and confidence during this difficult time. Priority will be given to individuals and families experiencing long-term unemployment.

In order to apply, you must have proof of lost income and documentation of any financial hardship. If you’re not sure if you qualify, please visit RentHelpPlacer.com to learn more about requirements and processes. Once the applications are processed, you and your landlord will be alerted and briefed on the next steps.
