Lincoln and Rocklin have officially been named two of the safest places to live in California.

In fact, the two Placer County cities made it into the top 20 in the annual Safest Cities in California report, conducted by SafeWise.

Every city included on list had less than two violent crimes per 1,000 people. The rankings were based on the violent crime rate and property crime rate.

Lincoln, with a population of 47,741 and a median income of $78,647, ranked No. 13 with a violent crime rate of .92 and a property crime rate of 12.67.

Neighboring Rocklin, with a population of 63,735 and median income of $91,995, ranked No. 16 with a violent crime rate of 1.04 and property crime rate of 17.81.

It is no wonder so many call these two cities home. To go along with great schools, parks, dining options and employment opportunities, safety is a big contributing factor to the quality of life in the area.
