More than 5,500 new homes could be on their way to the Lincoln/Rocklin area.

Plans for a new development known as Placer Ranch were recently released that would not only bring new homes to Placer County, but also retail, entertainment, business and industry developments. The hub of the development will be a satellite campus for Sacramento State.

According to The Sacramento Bee, the new development, which spans 13 square miles, could bring more than 13,000 residents to the area.

At the end of October, the completed environmental and planning review documents were released.

Developments like these are an example of how Placer County is a destination due to its continued employment and economic growth, as well as its high scores for quality of life.
