The Placer SPCA has opened a new facility in Roseville.

The $14 million project was 16 years in the making, and on Sept. 15 the state-of-the-art facility opened its doors to the public for the first time at 200 Tahoe Avenue.

The new building has pet rooms focused on offering comfortable, spacious habitats. Doors in between the rooms allow pets to mingle amongst each other, and natural lighting shines into each room. The hospital-quality design of the facility decreases chances of cross contamination between animals, and quality air circulation in each room makes sure air is not shared between two animals.

In addition, the rooms are built more like actual rooms in a home to make the pets more comfortable and so potential adopters can envision what it would be like to have the pet in their house.

This is great news for our local animals and for families looking to bring home a new pet!
