Libraries across Placer County are getting a technology upgrade.
The catalog systems are being streamlined to boost the experience for library-goers online, and in the locations themselves. The new software will be able to better keep track of library inventory and offer new features for the user, including the ability to view an account online and a catalog of previously checked-out books, as well as a book search that is similar to a Google search.
The current system is 24 years old, according to the County.
The county warns that there may be some delays in service while the transition takes place over the next month. For information on interruptions to some library services and other things to know about the transition, click here.
