A Placer County eServices program won two high-profile awards for its innovation and ability to connect and engage citizens.

The Placer County Community Development Resource Agency’s new eServices program, launched in June, offers residents access to services around the clock. Before the program went into effect, people needed to visit Community Development Resource Agency offices in Auburn or Tahoe City.

Residents in the area love the convenience of this program. For anyone looking for guidance with commercial and residential projects, eServices streamlines the process. Whether you’re applying for permits or reviewing zoning requirements, all the information you’ll need is at your fingertips through the incredible resident-friendly service.

The on-demand services like “Ask Placer” uses artificial intelligence similar to Apple’s Siri or Amazon’s Alexa.

No wonder the program received the Merit Award from the California State Association of Counties, and the Most Innovative Use of Citizen Engagement award from the Center for Digital Government.

More than 284 entries were submitted for the California State Association of Counties recognition, which honors innovation and best practices at the county level.

Placer County was featured in the “Best of California” awards presented by the Center for Digital Government.

This isn’t the first time this year Placer County has received recognition. The county placed third in a national digital award in the 17th Annual Digital Counties Survey Awards.

Placer County is a great place to live. The awesome neighborhoods, schools, shopping centers, places to eat and great services for the residents, are just some of the draws to this wonderful place. The awards reminds us that there’s good things happening all around us. And that’s what Placer County living is all about.
