If you are a fan of juicy, red strawberries then you aren’t going to want to miss the Berryfest Strawberry Festival in May.

Held at the Placer County Fairgrounds on May 12 to May 13, this annual event will feature strawberry treats, shopping, cooking demonstrations, live bands, a petting zoo, pony rides, Adventure Faire, a strawberry shortcake eating contest and more!

The Adventure Faire will feature a spectacular jousting and renaissance show in the grandstands of the All-American Speedway with multiple shows daily. Best of all, Mother’s Day falls on May 13, so what better way to celebrate mom than bringing her to this family friendly, fun event? There will be a “Mom’s Retreat” available for an additional $10.

All of the strawberries at the festival are grown in California by California farmers, and most are from Placer County. All vendors are required to buy strawberries from local farms that help support the event.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days, and a parade is set for May 12 at 1 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are available on the festival’s website.

The Berryfest Strawberry Festival is just one of the many great community events held in Placer County. For other upcoming events in the area, check out our events page.
