Thanksgiving is all about getting together with family and friends and enjoying a good meal together. There are other things you can do around this great community though.
Here is a list of five things families can consider doing over the holiday.
Nov. 22, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Vernon Street Town Square
If you want to get out of the house and get some exercise in before you enjoy that plentiful Thanksgiving dinner, you should register to participate in the Roseville Turkey Trot. This 5K and 10k allows attendees to race, run, jog, walk and even bring strollers for the kids.
Loomis Day Before Thanksgiving Day Parade
Nov. 21, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Taylor Rd., from Walnut to King, Downtown Loomis, CA
This Thanksgiving tradition is one you won’t want to miss. It is free and put on by the Loomis Chamber of Commerce. Get out and celebrate Thanksgiving early with the community so you can spend the whole day on Thanksgiving at home with your family.
Nov. 18 to Jan. 21, 2019
1009 Orlando Avenue, Roseville CA 95661
Want a family adventure this holiday season? The Roseville skating rink “brings a bit of Rockefeller Center, New York to Roseville.” It takes place at Skatetown. More details here.
Volunteer at the Placer Food Bank
8284 Industrial Ave.
Roseville, CA 95678
Make a difference in the lives of others by helping those in need. The Placer Food Bank coordinates food drives and its volunteers assist in their mission to eliminate hunger. Consider taking some time out of your busy holiday schedule to help others.
Check Out a Movie
Relax after that big dinner at one of the many wonderful movie theaters around Placer County. Many families will surely be flocking to theaters to see Ralph Breaks the Internet and The Grinch.
