A few years back, we reported on how the city of Loomis was reviewing an Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for a new Costco, and the mega-store recently made a move that may solidify that it will be opening a second location in the area.

Last month, Costco purchased nearly 18 acres on Sierra College Blvd. and Brace Road, according to Gold Country Media. While the city is still reviewing the EIR and analyzing potential traffic, the fact that the retailer purchased the land is a strong indication that things are progressing.

If the Costco does end up opening in Loomis, it would provide Placer County residents an alternative to the Roseville Costco on Stanford Ranch Road, which would likely benefit those who live north and east of there.

There are many good shopping options across Placer County, Costco is one of those. In addition, there are a variety of places to eat, parks, good schools and employment opportunities.
