What to Expect: If you want a quality gym with flexible membership options, this is the one for you. There is a good amount of space and the staff is friendly. Crunch offers group fitness classes and training from certified trainers. On its website, the gym touts its open mind: “There are no judgments here – No too much or not enough. What to Expect: This is a luxury gym at its finest. It has group classes, educational personal trainers and activities for kids. The gym states that you can “Work out and play in spaces designed to move and inspire you. Then, relax in lounge and social areas to recover, reset and refresh.” There is an indoor and outdoor pool, basketball courts, steam room, water slides, fitness studio, cardio and weights floor, bar, yoga studio and more. Services and programs include, but aren’t limited to: health assessments, social events, nutritional coaching, weight loss programs, a kids academy, Pilates and basketball leagues.

1 Lifestyle Fitness – Auburn

What to Expect: Among several other awards, Lifestyle Fitness made the KCRA A Lists in 2015 and is community oriented. The website states that it is more than a gym with weights and treadmills, it is a “connected supportive community, driven by the desire to improve the lifestyle and health of each and every member.” Classes offered include: TRX, Bootcamp, Zumba, fitness kickboxing, Pilates, mixed martial arts, spin and more. The gym also offers electronic key access and is open 20 hours per day (3 a.m. to 11 p.m.). 1 Lifestyle Fitness features top-of-the-line equipment that is well-maintained, a childcare area and friendly staff.

Orangetheory Fitness – Roseville

What to Expect: This a gym for those with specific goals such as training to run a marathon, build muscle or lose weight. Members get their entire workout planned for them in an easy-to-understand manner. Though the workouts can be intense, members often say they are able to reach their goals. The website states that it “makes use of interval training exercises. The idea behind our interval training sessions is that by raising your heart rate, your metabolism and endurance will also increase. A session with us takes 60 minutes, and your body will burn up to 1,000 calories as you move through the 30 carefully designed workout stations.”
